Liverpool 245 has been moved several times before. On this occasion from Liverpool Edge Lane Depot to Steamport Museum in Southport. John Codling has dug out and scanned a number of photos that he took of 245 when it was being removed from the Edge Lane works in 1977. The first two pictures show the tram in the paint shop at edge Lane.

In the photo (bottom right) the person in the foreground with the moustache and hands in his pocket was Roger Bell, a Steamport Director, who was largely instrumental in the tram's move to Steamport.

John knew Roger as he worked with him at Plessey Telecommunications, next door to the works. - Plessey became Marconi. The depot bit the dust! Both men left the place in the late '70s.
