After an overnight stop at Chester Zoo on Tuesday, 245
completed the journey to Birkenhead on Wednesday
17th May 2006. Arriving at Taylor Street the trailer was
reversed up the slope to the terminus where Hong Kong
69 was waiting to perform shunting duties.

A party of schoolchildren arrives on Hong Kong 70, driven by Keith Carmichael, as the rails are put in position to unload 245. (all by D Pendleton except second pic below by M Mercer)

Touchdown! 245 rolls onto Birkenhead rails (above and left) then a draw-bar is connected between 245 and 69
so the new arrival can be shunted round to Taylor Street depot.
