Work is progressing well on the Enclosed Dash at A. end. New Ash transom window and waist rails are being fitted. This type of work requires a lot of skill, time, and attention, due to the changing angle of each window at each stage. (Pics by Denis Butler)

The restoration on Warrington No2 has started Big Time. The new platform bearers have been fitted to one end. As soon as they are fitted on both ends the body can be lifted off the A frames. This means that the steel angle can be removed and the body frame can be inspected and replaced where required. Here are the latest photos taken by Mike Mercer.

The lads at Taylor Street moved Warrington No2 out of the yard and in to the tramshed on Thursday night the 8th June 06.
It was moved on the old airport trolley and towed with the forklift truck. They had to take it down the side street and round in to Taylor St and through the depot main doors. Then it was hand maneuvered in to the area where the substation is
situated.
With the body under cover, work can start on the underframe and things will really start to progress.

Jonathan Howard was busy last Saturday, working on Warrington No 2, and has supplied us with more pictures of the continuing restoration. "What they show is my attempt at speeding up the vast amount of paint stripping we have got to do! I took all the lower saloon doors and the internal bulkhead from B end outside, covered them in paint stripper, left them for 20 minutes or so then blasted all the muck and paint off with my pressure washer. Must say I think they turned out very well!"
Below is a door coated with paintstripper and then being hosed down.

Above are the A end doors.... ...and those from B end, after being hosed down.
