Very Welcome News

As some of our visitors this past weekend may have noticed, we have now had permission from Wirral Borough Council to start running trams once again on Saturdaysand Sundays and we had two successful running days last weekend. We also had a vintage bus offering short tours around Birkenhead Docks (something we hope to repeat on selected weekends in the future).
The tram service has had to be curtailed though because of the poor condition of track beyond the traffic lights by the Police hut in Shore Road. Therefore trams not now run down to Woodside Ferry until track repairs along that section have been undertaken.
Subject to the availability of volunteer crews and vehicles (which could change at short notice), trams will now run from the museum at the times specified on our opening times page.
It is ashort walk from the Police Hut to Hamilton Square Station (Merseyrail). The Transport Museum will be fully open on Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 4pm along with the Sales Kiosk and Museum Cafe. Entrance to the museum is free.
We should like to thank you for your patronage of the Museum since we re-opened to visitors and hope that you will continue to support us in our restoration projects and the upkeep of our historic tram fleet. This you can do by riding our trams, visiting our cafe and sales kiosk and by voluntary donations.
Membership forms can be obtained from the kiosk or you can click here for details.
